Operation Equilibrium

I am co-ordinating an exciting and innovative scheme called “Operation Equilibrium”, which offers injured ex-service personnel the opportunity to scuba dive in California, USA.

What is it?

Operation Equilibrium is an innovative pilot scheme which aims to take 12 ex-service personnel scuba diving in California, USA. The scheme is open to those who have been disabled through active service.

What are the benefits?

Some of the evidenced benefits to individuals undertaking scuba diving training include:

  • increased psychological wellbeing and physical health
  • self-belief and confidence
  • prevention of social exclusion
  • contributing towards positive social interactions and relationships (source: DfES, 2006, Institute of Applied Social Studies)

Anecdotally, individuals highlight a wide range of personal benefits, including:

  • A sense of freedom
  • Fun

Why I am telling you about “Operation Equilibrium”

I need your support to make this exciting and worthwhile project work. I feel that it is important that I communicate directly to potential beneficiaries to elicit their views on the project and discuss how they can become involved. It is in this area that I need your co-operation and help.

Please email me if you think you can help. Thank you
